Revision: January 2008
The Well Services: Tubing Operations Level 2 National Occupational Standards (NOS) define the expected level of performance, knowledge, understanding and behaviour an individual must achieve when carrying coiled tubing, fluid pumping or nitrogen pumping operations in the workplace. The standards will act as benchmarks for assessing and monitoring on the job competence.
The standards have been designed for individuals working as coiled tubing operators, fluid pumping operators or nitrogen pumping operators in the oil and gas industry.
The standards form part of Level 2 SVQ Well Services: Tubing Wireline
Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) provide recognition of an individual’s ability to work in real work conditions. Quality assured certificates of competence for SVQs are issued by Awarding Bodies / Organisations.
Mechanical Wireline Level 2 is jointly awarded by SQA and OPITO.
Organisations implementing SVQs should refer to the OPITO Competence Gas Assessment and Verification Guidelines. Organisations implementing the SVQ must comply with the OPITO Assessment and Verification Strategy for Upstream Oil and Gas SVQs. Organisations should also refer to the relevant Awarding Body/Organisation guides.
