"OPITO welcomes the AAIB report, which has highlighted amongst its recommendations the need for helicopter passengers to wear a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
"Last month the UK interim BOSIET/FOET/HUET CA-EBS standards were introduced in response to the Civil Aviation Authority Report (CAP1145), which contained a series of actions and recommendations to improve offshore helicopter safety.
"OPITO approved training providers are now delivering the new UK interim standards, and in the longer term, alongside industry stakeholders, we are working towards providing in-water training exercises using the CA-EBS equipment.
"We have made progress with applying recommendations from this report and will continue to work in partnership with our industry stakeholders to ensure that the safety of the offshore workforce is held at the forefront of our activity."
