Aim and objectives:

The aim of the MIST programme is to introduce delegates to the key safety elements required by all employees working in the oil and gas industry. It also ensures the knowledge and understanding of these basic safety elements are maintained and current amongst the existing workforce.

Target audience:

This introductory safety training programme is designed to introduce the fundamental safety elements of the offshore oil and gas industry to new starts, giving an appreciation of the potential hazards and controls that might be encountered by personnel offshore.

Delegate pre-requisites:

There are no pre-requisites.

Training durations:

Modules can be delivered over a two day period with an optimum contact time of 13 hours and 30 minutes at an OPITO approved training facility.

Validity:

4 years

Experienced offshore employees looking to renew their MIST certification, can access an online portal to complete MIST CBT (Computer Based Training).  The portal can be accessed here.
